JEE Main

JEE Main is the first phase of the IIT Joint Entrance Exam (IIT JEE). It is a computer-based online test conducted by the National Testing Agency for students aspiring to pursue undergraduate courses in India in top engineering institutes, such as IITs, NITs, etc.

The exam is held for candidates who are aspiring to pursue a career in the field of engineering and technical studies. Besides, the JEE exam is the gateway to some of the various prestigious engineering colleges (both government and private) in India.

Tech candidates, the entrance exam has three sections that have 25 questions each (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics). The total mark is 300 marks.

If you want to study engineering in India, JEE is crucial. To get into IITs, IISc, or NITs, you need a very good JEE score. (Another test to enter into BITs is the BITSAT.)

Only those candidates who have passed the Class 12/equivalent examination or those who are appearing in Class 12/equivalent examination are eligible to appear in JEE (Main).

JEE Mains Exam is regarded as one of India's most difficult exams, requiring dedication and hard effort to pass. Aspirants start studying in class 11th in order to perform well in the tests. Every year, roughly ten lakh candidates take the JEE Mains Exam.

The major purpose of this test is to help students obtain admission to any of the top-tier institutions across the nation. Almost all universities accept JEE scores. However, it is not mandatory to obtain seats in engineering colleges. It is only compulsory for IITs and NITs, and other national-level institutions.

The JEE Main exam pass mark varies with categories. The general category candidates must secure a minimum aggregate of 85%. For the SC/ST/PWD categories, they must score a minimum of 65% in aggregate.

Class 12 marks have no weightage in the preparation of JEE Main ranks. Students should know that the ranks will be determined based on their score in the entrance exam. However, for admission into IITs, NITs, CFTIs the score that candidates have secured in their class 12 board exam will be taken into account.
